CHEN KOK SING

Chen Kok Sing

Chen Kok Sing is the Managing Director of IM Flash Singapore, LLP. With more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Kok Sing possesses the knowledge, insight, and expertise necessary to lead IM Flash Singapore, LLP, a new semiconductor joint venture in Singapore between Intel Corporation and Micron Technology, Inc.

Kok Sing began his career as a Quality Reliability Assurance (QRA) Engineer at Texas Instruments (TI) Singapore in 1984. In 1991, Kok Sing joined the pioneer team from TI to startup a new semiconductor joint venture company called TECH Semiconductor Singapore. While at TECH, Kok Sing served as the QRA Manager and Facilities Manager, during which time he led the QRA organisation to achieve ISO 9002 certification and oversaw the construction of a new TECH manufacturing facility, and later held other management positions including Fab Manager and Vice President of Operations. When Micron acquired partial ownership of TECH in 1998, Kok Sing played a key role in the initial transfer of and transition to Micron processes within TECH, a major factor that enabled TECH to achieve its first annual revenue of US$1 billion in 2000.

Kok Sing has also served with distinction in the Singapore Armed Forces. Currently holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Kok Sing has received awards such as the 2006 Singapore Armed Forces NSman of the Year and has held key command positions such as Commanding Officer of the 425th Singapore Armour Regiment.

Kok Sing holds a First Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
